Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is set to act in another Disney movie.  This one is based on the Disney theme park attraction “Tomorrowland”.  The movie is also called “Tomorrowland”.

The Rock also appeared in the Race to Witch Mountain in 2008.  The Rock played the lead role for that Disney remake.

JBL Retires

John Bradshaw Layfield has retired from wrestling.  He has stated that he has no plans to do anything wrestling related in the future.  His swan song came at Wrestlemania 25 when he was beaten by Rey Mysterio in 21 seconds.  He left the ring looking like he was going to cry but then screamed “I quit!”.

JBL started out in the WWF(E) as Justin Hawk Bradshaw and worked hard to get over with the fans.  He tried several other gimmicks, but his career finally catapulted when he joined Ron Simmons as a member of the APA.  The APA brought comedy and muscle to the WWE.  The group was basically designed to looked like rough neck hitmen who would go along with anyone who paid their fee.  They were often show in the backstage area playing poker waiting for the next client.

JBL took on the JBL persona when he became a premiere heel in the WWE.  He was masterful at getting heat from the crowd both as in-ring talent and as an announcer of Smackdown.  He will be missed as the WWE is hurting for true heels.

I personally thought he would be the next announcer on Smackdown after Tazz quit the company.  With the addition of The Coach’s profile on WWE.com, I am guessing now it will be coach.

Christian Will be Champ?

Canadian son Christian has stated that he still believes he will be WWE champ someday.  He has earned that right to carry the belt for a period so I really can’t see why he would not be champ someday.

Christian told ESPN… “I actually feel like I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I’m a little older, a little wiser, and I think things are going to be a lot different for me this time around. I think this time I’ll definitely reach my full potential, and at some point, I will be World Champion.”

The only thing holding back Christian is the rumors that Vince McMahon stated that he doesn’t see Christian as a main event guy.  Vince has always been in love with the muscle heads of the WWE.  Christian is smaller but has the charisma to carry the belt.

Christian returned to the WWE from TNA earlier this year.  His previous run with the WWE earned him the reputation of being Captain Charisma and one of the masters of the TLC match.

Tazz Done with the WWE

In shocking news out of the WWE, Tazz is apparently done with the WWE.  He has been known to be unhappy with the company on past occassions but nobody thought he would leave the company.

Tazz started with the WWE in 2000 after migrating from ECW as a wrestler.  After his wrestling career was finished he moved into announcing on Sunday Night Heat.  He moved his way up to Smackdown! eventually pairing with WWE legend Jim Ross.  Tazz (in my opinion) was the second best announcer in the WWE.

Tazz’s voice will be missed by WWE fans.  The upcoming draft will tell who his replacement will be.

Wrestlemania 25 Results

WWE Champion Triple H def. Randy Orton
John Cena def. Edge & Big Show (New World Heavyweight Champion)
CM Punk wins Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Chris Jericho def. WWE Legends
Matt Hardy def. Jeff Hardy (Extreme Rules Match)
Undertaker def. Shawn Michaels
Rey Mysterio def. JBL (New Intercontinental Champion)
“Santina” Marella wins 25-Diva Battle Royal for title of “Miss WrestleMania”
WWE Tag Team Champions def. World Tag Team Champions (New Unified Tag Team Champions)

The match of the night easily goes to the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.  These 2 men put on a match for the ages.  With dozens of near falls and hig spots, the crowd was kept in this marathon match for it’s entirty.  By the end Shawn Michaels took a Last Ride, 2 tombstones and 2 chokeslams.  Undertaker got the victory to go 17-0 at Wrestlemania.

Another surprise was that WWE legend Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat still can wrestle.  After his partners (Roddy Piper & Superfly Snuka) were eliminated, he gave Chris Jericho a good match.  He even pulled of a few top rope moves.  It was a great effort.

The Divas battle royal was funny with Santino in drag winning the entire match.  The only thing I would have liked to see was for the WWE to announce who was actually is the match. As the match went on the announcers tried to fill the crowd in but I didn’t know Torrie and SUnny were there until after they were eliminated.

The list of the 25 divas are:

- Kelly Kelly
- Layla
- Maryse
- Michelle McCool
- Melina
- Torrie Wilson
- Victoria
- Santina’ Marella
- Eve Torres
- Jillian Hall
- Katie Lea Burchill
- Brie Bella
- Beth Phoenix
- Alicia Fox
- Gail Kim
- Mickie James
- Maria
- Natalya
- Nikki Bella
- Rosa Mendes
- Tiffany
- Joy Giovanni
- Molly Holly
- Miss Jackie
- Sunny

Rey Mysterio defeated JBL in 21 seconds.  JBL quit the company afterwards.

Kid Rock put on a good 10 minute show before the Divas battle-royal.

Mr Kennedy Injury Update

For those Mr. Kennedy fans out there.  Ken Kennedy told Femalefirst.co.uk that “I just want to make sure that I’m totally ready before I get back in the ring. I was hoping it’d be better for Wrestlemania but I guess now it’s going to be after that.”

Ken has been out of action fsince August 2008.  He is much needed right now in the WWE since most current stars are lacking the charisma he brings to the table.

For those hardcore WWE fans, the WWE has released the “WWE Encyclopedia”.  It is the definitive source for all things WWE over the last 50 years.  It appears to be a large hardcover book with many pictures.

This is something that would make a great gift for any WWE fan on your list.  If anyone who has my list is reading…

The WWE wrestler known as Test was found dead in his Florida home on Saturday.  Andrew “Test” Martin was a Canadian son who is a former WWE champ.  He will be missed by all wrestling fans.

Foul play is not suspected in Andrew “Test” Martin’s death, though authorities are waiting for the results of the toxicology tests before announcing a cause of death.

My prayers are with the one he loved.
